This should perhaps be in the Complaints corner. Over the years i have suffered from the awful, painful pee thing.
But, for several years i have not, this weekend i got it bad. But being Easter i drank lots of water and found cranberry juice. Tuesday morning i went to the Chemist and just mentioned the word Cystit to the woman and she went rummaging around in the back, and came back with loads of homeopathetic stuff. She told me that i had to take certain pills for 12 days? Put drops on sugar cubes for six days.
I don't have any sugar cubes. All i wanted was some aspirin and bicarbonate of soda which i know can flush it all out. She wanted 100 francs for her voodoo stuff, after i had stopped her and requested what i wanted it was 12 francs.

All good now. Three years ago, the doctor gave me antibiotics a three day course. They made my feet go numb (felt like i was walking on sponges).
The next day she gave me an antibiotic that you take once and all symtoms go. That one worked. So far, the bicarbonate of soda and one aspergic in the water seems to be working. The pain that goes down to the feet and right along the arms is not something that i would even wish upon the bitch that cut me off in the Pharmacie!!! It's just the fact that the woman ran off and offered me something that will get me over my ailment in 12 frigging days!! In twelve days i would have been a piss covered basket case!! Today, i did wash all my clothes etc.
Just in case it comes back. Oh, the joys of menopause and beyond. My mother, who is 84, has had bladder problems for about 30 years. I just read the above thread. Got it, i walk around barefoot!!! Therein lies the problem.
When you wash things don't forget things (that can harbour bacteria) that have indirect contact with your bits, dish cloths (towel to hand to bits. Eventually), towels, sponges, your husbands underpants, things that get damp and can harbour e-coli / have bacteria, and i'd advise doing it for a few weeks?, once or twice use, then boil wash, sounds like laundry hell but thats better than cystitis hell.
I thought id add some links here on laundry temperatures, when i first read the dm one, it thought god there are a bunch of neurotic clean freaks commenting here In the beginning i could more relate to this commentator 'I soak my laundry overnight in bleach then use an industrial powered pressure washer on it. I then place it in a large trough and get the neighbours to stomp on it. I then douse it in Jeyes fluid, hose it down thoroughly and give it a good thrashing. Before finally setting it alight. You can't be too careful.' But i think a little differently now.

I just read the above thread. Got it, i walk around barefoot!!! Therein lies the problem. The barefoot thing is quite simple - peripheral nerves. Hands and feet, try to hand wash your dishes in really warm water, see if it makes you want to pee.
It's a normal response, reflex. If you have your peripheral nerves constantly bugged by cold (hands or feet, but feet we mostly expose to cold surface, more than cold hands, our hands are closer to the heart so it is easier to have them warmed up by blood circulation), it can effect negatively your urinary tract, just like if you hang out in cold weather for too long, some people just will get sick because it will be too much for their immune system to fend off. Stay warm, wrap yourself in warm wolly stuff, especially around your mid section and your feet (no silly barefoot balerinas in the chilly mornings bs), while hydrating enough with warm fruit tea (there is a mix of herbs for urinary track infection, herbal infusion), and see if that makes a difference. What can trigger bacterial anomaly is also alcohol, thrush, etc. Yoghurts are great, avoid sugar and sweet stuff, for a while. I would also avoid stuff that is too spicy or too much protein, just in case your kidneys are tired.
